Hi, I’m Amanda! This is me, sharing my journey.
I’m a mama to three, trying to figure out how to do my best in my role. I spend my days being a stay at home mom and I couldn’t be happier!
I want to be a good example to my children and teach them how to live a healthy, balanced lifestyle by showing them, not just telling them. My kids are often in the kitchen with me while I’m cooking and even though they can’t cook yet, they love to watch! I hope they will love cooking as much as I do!

I’m so glad you’re documenting your progress, and I have embarked on a similar quest over the past year! I started as a size 20, 250+ lbs, smoker, and have slowly changed my food intake 1 meal at a time. Now, just a year later, I quit smoking, am 50 lbs lighter, and recently my vegan diet helped me discover a Gluten Intolerance that was being masked by my daily overdose of spaghetti-o and ramen noodles (the doctor said my vegan diet spared me from possible early-onset joint and bone problems!). It can be done!!
I’m so happy for you and your decision to permanently take back control of your health! If you ever get discouraged, please remember that there are too many of us 20-somethings in this together! It’s so encouraging to hear other people share their stories, it’s just affirmation that it really can be done! I have about 35 pounds to go until I reach my goal weight, I’m very proud of myself. I’m proud of you too and I love looking at your recipes, I need some inspiration in the kitchen!

Great! I am on a similiar path and decided to embrace a vegan diet. I also learned that I have a gluten intolerance. I know I will reach and maintain my health, fitness & weight goals. I’ll visit periodially and please feel free to check out my blog.

haha I am totally barraging you with posts! Just on your weight loss note, I was quite overweight, lost aroung 30kg and was a good weight, then put it all back on after a stressed out to the max year. Now back on the journey again. Also settled on the low carb diet as the most sucsessful, my main issue now is portion control and not getting carried away with tasty food and alcohol

I lost weight and regained it so many times (50 pounds on at least three occasions). This time, I’ve lost 80 lbs in a short time, and my scale has stubbornly refused to move for months, but I haven’t given up. What I’ve learned is that you don’t have to be perfect every day. You just need to keep going. 🙂

Hi, I just started following your blog and was really inspired. Even I am a pre-diabetic just got myself into atkins and started blogging my first hand experience with it. What I can induce from your latest posts are that you are into paleo diet. Have you ever tried atkins before. Appreciate if you can follow and support me 🙂

I have tried Atkins before, but the chemical and processed products they sell don’t settle well with my body. And neither does dairy. I have found more success eating whole natural foods and I feel about 100 times better than I did while on Atkins!

Thanks for the info. I have heard the same comments in various forums so I am not using any atkins products during the induction phase. Lets see how it goes. That’s for your feedback.
